AIPLF European Year of Youth Winners 2022

To celebrate the European Year of Youth, the AIPLF  (Irish Association of French Language Teachers) organised a video competition in French.  The students were tasked with making a 3 minute video, highlighting the advantages of Ireland’s membership of the European Union.  Our students, here in Drimnagh Castle won first prize.  The 5th year  students involved are Jomo Joe, Rhys Barzaga, Sean Mercado and Jasper Sajjad.

The winners received a goodie bag which included a French 20 euro commemorative coin celebrating the 20th anniversary of the euro as well as the famous French Franc. The prize also included a ball, a frisbee, a jigsaw puzzle of the EU, some diaries and pens and a holdall bag.  Well done boys!

Drimnagh Castle Secondary School

Drimnagh Castle Secondary School is a Christian Brothers secondary school located on the Long Mile Road in the suburb of Drimnagh, Dublin. The school buildings are situated directly beside the old Norman castle from which the school takes its name.

Meánscoil Iognáid Rís, Drimnagh Castle operates within the context of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST) Charter. The legacy of Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers, challenges our school to be inclusive and to be especially mindful of the disadvantaged. It challenges our school to focus on the importance of a values-based, Christian education in the Catholic tradition. The school embraces the vision of promoting in its pupils full personal and social development in a caring Christian community of learning and teaching. It subscribes to a holistic vision of education which is expressed in the following five key principles:

In Drimnagh Castle Secondary School we pride ourselves in providing post primary education in a caring, safe, happy and structured environment where every student is valued.
